Michael brings over 34 years of experience helping clients navigate what is often one of the most challenging periods of their lives. He is recognized for his calm, practical approach and his ability to guide individuals and families through complex and emotionally charged matters with clarity and compassion.

Michael is certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a Specialist in Family Law. He is an accomplished litigator who has appeared at all levels of court in Ontario, including the Court of Appeal. He focuses exclusively on family law.

Despite his success in the courtroom, Michael understands that family law often benefits from a less adversarial approach. He prioritizes early resolution whenever possible. As a trained family mediator with over 20 years of experience in this role, he has successfully resolved more than 90% of the cases in which he has acted as mediator.

Michael completed two years of undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto before being accepted early into Osgoode Hall Law School. He graduated in 1990 and was called to the Bar in 1992. In 1994, he became the founding partner of a family law boutique firm, where he served as senior and managing partner until January 2026. He then joined Walker Head as Counsel, a move that reflects a long-standing professional relationship and shared values with the firm’s team.

Outside of his practice, Michael is a devoted husband and father of three. He has been actively involved in his community for more than 30 years, contributing his time to coaching, refereeing, and supporting youth sports.
